I haven't used deviantart for ages. I have found it is actually pretty useless for an artist, and I get much more response from my website. [link] I think the money spent on being a subscriber would be better spent on joining an online agency, such as elance or similar. I have also found this site full of people who can't actually draw, but thats ok because we all have to start somewhere. I also don't like the way people try to promote themselves by spamming, posting 'add me and Ill add you' type things and generally whoring themselves out to get more pageviews.
